The 7th workshop entitled “Medical and Dental School application” was held on December 5, 2012 from 5 to 8 at University of Toronto Galbraith Building, 35 St George Street, room 303.Dr. Lorelei Silverman and Dr. Rosalind Silverman compared and contrasted the application requirements for both medical and dental schools and presented various strategies and tips on how to prepare the application for both schools including: the resume, interview skills, research and volunteer experience, etc. Addition information about volunteering abroad for both medical and dental school was presented by Julie Sato and Ashwin Baskaran from Volunteers for Intercultural and Definitive Adventures (VIDA). Advice how to prepare for both MCAT and DAT was presented by Robert Groves and the instructor from Kaplan Test Prep. It was followed by an overview of Aureus University School of Medicine Aruba by Dr. Lakhinder Kanwar and Dr. Bala Gopalakrishnan. http://www.aureusuniversity.com/ and a presentation from one of our Models of Human Diseases member regarding, Amir Arayaan regarding his successful journey to Dental School.The workshop was followed by ample opportunities to ask questions and share experiences during Q and A discussion as well.
